the top commander of afghanistan has been caught up in the scandal surrounding former cia chief, david petraeus. the pentagon is investigating general john allen for sending inappropriate e-mails to jill kelly. >> kelly, she's the florida woman who triggered the investigation, which led petraeus to step down. >> we want to get more insight on this quickly-developing story from lama hasan. she is live in our london bureau this morning. lama, can you break down for us, exactly, how big is an investigation is this? >> reporter: well, good morning to you, rob. there are reportedly between 20,000 to 30,000 pages of e-mails and other documents from general allen's communications with jill kelly, between 2010 and 2012. and they're underreview. defense department officials will not say whether they are involved in sexual matters or whether they are thought to include unauthorized disclosures. it's not known whether david petraeus is mentioned in these e-mails. rob? >> lama, this is paula. david petraeus resigned. but general allen so far has denied wrongdoing. he is staying on the job for now.
